Make sure you find the right person. Since there is no official qualification for Feng Shui Consultant, the best way to find your consultant is by interviewing them yourself. Ask how long they have practiced, how, and why. Expect a solid consultant to have at least a few years experience. Consider experience and relevant credentials, but don’t be afraid to look at someone who is self-taught.
Ask what are you to expect. Figure out how long they will the initial visit take, what preparation will they do, and whether they will look into astrology, enneagrams, numerology, or other esoteric knowledge. Your consultant will try to figure out what you want out of life and take the time to really get to know you. Make sure to ask how to follow-up in case you aren’t getting the results you’re looking for or to give a positive testimonial.
Be considerate of your consultant. Make sure the day your consultant visit you have allotted sufficient time for you both to ask questions and get to know each other. You also want the consultant to have enough time to explain everything thoroughly as opposed to have you in the dark. If they are willing to keep you in the dark, they likely don’t know what they’re doing. This is a personal evaluation between the two of you. Be very clear about your goals and intentions in utilizing feng shui in your space.
Extra considerations. A good consultant will consider everyone in the household; goals and emotional landscapes. This is because energy blocks and emotional issues can be fixed by changing the environment.
